Managing stress and anxiety or physical pain from injury or chronic conditions can be overwhelming. Alternative and holistic approaches can be the missing link to your conventional treatments and medications. Complimentary modalities can stand alone as a treatment plan and can also be an excellent support to medications and mainstream therapies.
MEDITATION

For some, the word meditation evokes pangs of discomfort. For many, they can’t go a day without it.
Meditation is a practice in which you are totally immersed in a moment or more. It is non-religious and holds no dogma. Meditation is a practice where time seemingly stands still through focused breath or visualization, and when you can connect and honour your true self. This connection can bring inspiration, motivation, peace, love, joy and so much more. You could be sitting in prayer, knitting, lovingly preparing a meal, or walking in nature. It can be as short as 5 minutes and as long as hours. It is, finally, a disconnection from the busy outside world.
Meditation does not come very easily to many. The constant mind chatter, yielding to distractions, or just finding a space of your own, can keep you from getting those few precious moments to connect to your breath. Breathing is key.

When you follow your inhales and exhales, something quite magical begins to happen. Your body becomes more oxygenated, and all your systems begin to work more efficiently while allowing you to enter a very relaxed state. If you get distracted by a thought, acknowledge it, but don’t engage, just let it flow by like a soapy bubble and come back to following your breath. Spending 10 minutes in this meditative state in nature is equal to a 30-minute indoor practice. So whenever possible, go outdoors.
Guided spoken meditation, music with binaural beats, or with a specific frequency like 432hz or 528hz are options you might consider instead of silent practice. Currently, La Luz Therapy offers an intimate circle of healing vocal vibrations and guided visualized meditation called Healing Song Guided Meditation®. Meditating in a group increases the energies exponentially so that relaxation and journeying become much easier to achieve.
Because meditation is extremely relaxing and restorative it is necessary to be practised on a regular basis to enjoy profound and lasting benefits. In a meditation circle, I do all the work while you travel on a visualized journey to healing at all levels. As no two journeys or vocal vibrations are ever alike, it’s a new experience every time.
My channelled vocal vibrations will impact each participant differently, depending on their particular need. As in any concert, each takeaway will always differ, but be nonetheless impactful. Whether you are nursing a broken heart, an injured shoulder or have overall malaise, when you are ready and open to receive, the vibrations will help restore the balance. Private one-on-one sessions are also available.

REIKI
REIKI is an ancient healing modality, dating back 5,000 years. Ancient texts reveal that it was widely used in Tibet before it made its way to Japan in the 19th century and was put into modern practice by Sensei Mikao Usui. Although there are many lineages, techniques, and usages, REIKI basically harnesses Universal Life Force Energy, or God Source Energy that already surrounds us, is non-religious, deeply relaxing and promotes healing.
Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation which promotes healing. When the body is completely relaxed, it is better able to function optimally and start a natural healing process. The Reiki Master uses a laying-of-the-hands technique over a fully clothed client typically on a massage table. It can also be performed while seated, as well as by distance. The practitioner does not produce the energy but is only a conduit through which it is transferred to the client. Typically resulting in complete relaxation, the energy encourages the body to heal, the mind to rest, and the spirit to soar. This technique is perfect for those who have difficulty relaxing on their own. Clients with ADHD, for example, have found it most helpful to shut out the “noise”. Clients recovering from illness or injury enjoy the benefits of Reiki as it speeds up recovery time.

SOUND THERAPY
Sound Therapy has been used in rituals and healing since the start of recorded history. It uses various tools including vocal vibrations to bring about a shift in consciousness, a healing breakthrough and complete mind and body relaxation. Brass chimes, tuning forks, drums, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls and more offer unlimited frequencies which will resonate with certain parts of the body. Sound therapy is quite fascinating when working with the body’s own frequencies to either raise the Hz or lower it. Every chakra (7 major energy wheels in the body) responds to a specific frequency to maintain balance. When the imbalance is located it will be matched to its frequency using an instrument that reproduces that same frequency to restore balance.
AROMATHERAPY
Essential oils have been used for thousands of years as a first defence against illness as well as the go-to remedy to relieve pain from injury, manage stress and anxiety symptoms, insomnia and much more. Lucy Rose Apothecary©, a subdivision of La Luz Therapy offers blends specifically designed for your particular health issue. Aromatherapy has also been used to raise the energetic vibration in your workspace to attract and manifest more abundance.
SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING
Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are all techniques that can provide results to those suffering from an array of mental and emotional imbalances. Spiritual counselling encompasses energetic techniques and links them to the same imbalances. The driving force in this technique is mainly connecting to one’s Higher Self or intuitive side to find answers to questions one may not know to ask. While in a light meditative state, questions will be asked, and the answers recorded and shared. Other techniques used include writing or colouring with the non-dominant hand and release and receive techniques that help with clarity and forward movement. When we tap into our intuition on a regular basis, it provides many insights that many find to be life-changing.
